Hacking Wii Points Card Generator?

Well of course they will say it was fake, especially if it was true.
Think about it!
If you have a Wii points code generator, you don't want it to become widespread, because if everibody started entering fake Wii codes, Nintendo would soon find out, and create a different code generation algorythm. And you lose.

But if you tell everyone that it's fake, deny any rumor of a code generator, and keep it to yourself, Nintendo will be none the wiser, you will have all the points/VC games/other point-payable stuff you can handle, and this happy little parasitic relationship can go on for years.

So, what do you think?

I guess it's fake...and if it was real, it'd be really dumb to enter an illegally generated Wii points code into your Wii and send it to Nintendo's servers...if they don't notice it right away, they'll notice once someone else buys a Wii points card with that code, and complains at Nintendo that it doesn't work...and whoops, they'd see that you entered that code before

Not that I'm saying it was real but, if the hackers who would have made this "key-gen for a GTA game" could have used a Rockstar program icon, what makes you think Mozy couldn't use one for a points card generator? That certainly doesn't disprove anything.

Unless someone at Nintendo had a temporary attack of massive stupidity it's not possible in any way to 'generate' valid vc codes. Codes will be *randomly* generated on the fly when they're printed, and entered into a database. That database is checked when you try to redeem the code. Emphasis on random here, meaning it's completely impossible to predict what the resulting code will be.

And yes, it looks like a keygen for some rockstar game or something. Claiming he could've used the icon just for fun is just wishful thinking.

Even if you could generate valid VC codes, you'd still be stuck with the trickle of games as they come, and you'd still be be getting a paltry list of VC games as compared to what theyre releasing in Japan. I'm waiting for the mod(chip) to come along that will allow the Wii to play clean roms for VC systems directly from an SD or USB external HDD. I don't care if they get Wii backups playable, I know Nintendo needs to make money so I'll buy new Wii games. It's the old stuff (that I've already got) that I don't want to have to pay for.
