I wouldn't change the drive FW if the hex is available, the pics cost near nothing and neither does a programmer (especially if you buy it with a few blokes), chances are someone in your neighbourhood even has one.

for me its great news... i prefear a fw flash for sure.. No soldering included, and it probably means warranty would still be easier to claim
