Hardware Wii Mod-Chip Question: Have no idea which to get??

Hey Guys

I thought it would be nice to finally mod my Wii... so I'm wondering which mod chip do I need?

My serial number for my Wii is: Lu52143850

So yhaa... thats about it lol... what do I do?

Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-D2B.

Your Drive Pins are most likely cut.

Yhaa I looked that up...

so what now I have to get one of those super hard mod chips? the ones with 28 wires that would be impossible to solder on myself lol....

No the 32 wire chip is for the D2C , not D2B. You can use pretty much any of the older chips you want (wiikey etc) , you just have to repair the 3 cut pins on the ic and install as normal or solder directly to the little stumps of the pins.

That part armadillo sayd is VERY hard!
Dont go into that part unless you dont cry if you destroy your Wii!
Becurse it needs drilling into the chip!

hey bu the new wlip came out, you buy say a wiinja deluxe or wiikey, add it to the wlip and boom no solder just install...

Yhaa I read about drilling.. holy crap that looks hard.

I saw images and I was like there is no way I can do this myself and its pretty pricey for some one else to install it for you.

Good thing I'm in no rush I plan on buying No More Heroes and Super Smash Bros for now.

I'll figure a way....

Though my question is.....
what is the difference between D2C and D2B? Which one is the newer way to battle against piracy?

I thought D2C was the latest model available to battle piracy.

D2C isn't the latest. But its much more secure than the DMS/D2A/D2B chips.

The D2C requires 15-30 wires installed ON the chip! which makes it VERY diffuelt to install!.
