yeah icefire i do kinda agree, but still i think those channels mighta helped in some way, i can at least see the use for the menu uninstaller. but just outa morals i think i wouldof kept the disk checker away cause of the trouble it woulda caused.

well, crediar legally has all of these apps obtained by searching the unused nand clusters of wiis. They have no use for them - homebrew can do all this and more.

no surprise you failed, dev kits use a different common-key so it can't even decrypt the savefile to get to the point where the exploit happens.

He failed because he had bannerbomb on his card, though the common-key issue probably would have impeded him anyway.

well i COULD have ran bannerbomb, and Installed bootmii/homebrew channel. then from there get the channels from anytitle or just a nand copy with bootmii, but remember this is in the international conference room for Activision.... i didnt have 10 or so minutes to spare, this was supposed to be a rush job =P

Insert SD card (with BannerBomb)

Load up Load mii (boot.dol at root)

And have WAD Creator on your SD card. (as WADCreator.dol)
And have cIOS revision 13B installer on your SD card. (as Rev13BInstal.dol)
And have AnyTitle Deleter (MOD5) to delete IOS249. (as ATD.dol)

And... nothing happend

But if that Wii was on 4.0 then it wouldn't accept the wads without the necessary IOS35 tweaking or cboot2 if it was a LU64. Then there's the whole common-key thing still. It was pretty much dead from the start.

I'm pretty sure that was the original plan. But BB got in the way of that. And if the c-k is different then you couldn't extract it with the tools we have.

Hmm..
If it is a 4.0 Wii...

Than you must just downgrade ios35 and than use cIOS rev13B to use IOS35 to install.
Than run WAD Creator.

OR make a NAND dump with BootMii IOS (than remove it with Any Title Deleter. - IOS257)

why not just snatch the wii and run for it!
rolleyes.gif

cios install takes what? 1min at most?
i'm sure it wasn't a dev unit but maybe display units are the same as dev units or home units there is a 50% chance it would work, also could have downgraded the wii with nintendo's own downgrader right there.
though I'm not surprised it didn't happen.. some one could have watched him and took him to jail or some shit too.... lol

It's not a dev unit as such, it's a RVT-R reader, ie it plays game that have been burnt on to RVT-R discs which is Nintendo's own burnable disc format. They're used by magazines and to give games to testers during development etc

The dev unit is called the NDEV:

Also there is this unit which is similar to the RVT-R reader, but plays images from a hard drive inside:

I can't remember if it has to connect to another wii or if it is standalone though.
