There was plenty of wii play and nunchuk, but absolutely no single wiimote, no RGB cable and no YUV cable. At the virgin megastore, everything solded out in 20 minutes, except the VC controller.

The Wii's are sold out here in Alkmaar too
tongue.gif
.... Nunchuk's, Wiimote's and Wiiplay are all pretty much sold out
tongue.gif
... There are plenty of classic controllers that nobody seems to care

. I was lucky a napped a Wiiplay and a nunchuk after I finished my classes today.

I saw kids hopelessly walking around asking for Wii's ..... it was prety funny .... poor guys

I already have a US machine
tongue.gif
...but dammit I wish I had preordered a few UK machines! They're going for like £300-350 atm on ebay! =( I checked out a few stores this morning on a whim... Woolworths was the only place that had anything and they were out of systems and wiimotes. >_>

Me and Costello got ours this morning from our Amazon pre-order. It's fantastic! We had already played it in Paris, but you can't really get a real feel for it unless you play it properly.

We got Wii Sports, Wii Play (extra remote FTFW), Red Steel and of couse; Zelda TP.

I heard in NA america december 19th for weather and january 15th? i think for news so prolly around that same time for europe i think nintendo would want to launch it within a few weeks of each other jsut like the system, but other than that i think nintendo is doing a great job they've managed to launch a system wordwide within a few weeks just like they promised where as sony and micrsoft cant live up to that. Plus they handle broken systems quickly where i am from 2 days for a new one, my friend had a disc loading problem

I edited your topic because it's not only UK launch today, its the European launch (and Australian too?)

we received our Wii from Amazon
smile.gif
and Argos cancelled our order (well they said they wouldn't deliver on time.) good thing we ordred two!
but aww shaun is away from home (why the hell did he have to go out just now
biggrin.gif
) so I can't open the parcel.

Excuse me extreme nosiness(is there such a word), but are you and shaun brothers in arms or something?

And lookout, can't see ya in the pics

We both work on the 37th floor of the GBAtemp Building in London.
djgarf and thug4l1f3 work on the 35th floor but they rarely pay us a visit!

Got my Wii at my local shop in the afternoon. I was lucky that I was 4th on the preorder list. There weren't even enough for those who preordered. It seems like the Wii is pretty much sold out in Germany, too. Damn, what a hype.
smile.gif
But the thing is as awesome as I thought.

bought mine from asda, they had 18 in total and i think 13 or 14 of WiiPlay, nunchuck and zelda. I got to the store at around 6:30pm to join the queue in 11th place (one woman was there 24hours before the time of release
wacko.gif
) then sat down and played my DS and spoke to the others in the queue until midnight. At this point we were called up in order and asked what games and accessories we wanted, it was surprisingly organised to be honest.

I ended up buying:
Wii,
WiiPlay,
Zelda.

And I'm incredibly happy with my purchase. Hope everyone else is having fun playing and I look forward to playing you all when the online-capable games start to come out.
