Hacking WII Key 1.9b and 1.9g Update problems.

Got original Wii Key in my Pal Wii. Got 3.1E.

I got 1.9b what i burned on TDK DVD (using the filechop making it 1.4gigs) with ImgBurn at 4x.
I got 1.9g what also i burned on TDK DVD (using the filechop making it 1.4gigs) with ImgBurn at 4x.
Then the same with Config Disc 1.3.

When 1.9b inserted gives error after first test talling somthing about a connection.
If i remove the disc after telling : Stopping drive... the instalation carries on.
Then again i loed the disc then before the flashing i remove it again. Telling me the "insert coin" and Homer start to talk.

Then 1.3 disc gives error on start telling me wrong disc.


Trying and getting same at 1.9g. (SMG wont work)


1. I'm not even sure that it flashes my WiiKey.
2. Tryed burning Config 1.2 but it does not load.
3. How can i check what version the Wii Key FW is?
4. Do i need to go first 1.9b then 1.9g but can i go directly to 1.9g?

I wrote every one on TDK DVD.... should i try other media???

1. Are you sure that your Wiikey is original?
2. Are you sure that you have a Wiikey in your Wii?

3. There's no way to check that.
4. Dunno, better safe than sorry, update first to 1.9b and then to 1.9g.

Also you should try some quality media like Taiyo Yuuden or Verbatim (personally, I use Verbatim, no problems at all).

Or maybe you really have some loose connection

Well i can't update it... im lost. Tomorrow ill go buy severel types of media and ill try again.

All of them. Even Zack And Wiki works and i didnt used Region Frii on it.

Only SMG wont work, gives 001 Error

search for others with this error, usually they don't have a wiikey or a bad crappy clone

If you are 100% sure that the install is good and still the update fails, I'm afraid you are screwed. No one has yet to came up with a solution to your problem.

how do you know? a hologram does not prove it anymore.

The one whom i got it is a old friend of mine who is in the buissness for over 8 year. We wont make fun of me installing a fake one.

Every games works except SMG.

The 1.2 or 1.3 Config disc does not work ( gives error after starting up)

1.9b and 1.9g updates gives connection error or if i bypass by ejecting disc it gives error after flashing...

Im soooo clueless.

I had the same problem.. and I think this situation was already mentioned in this forum..

It's like this, all those who updated their Wiikey to the 1.9b or later will have that problem unless they used the Wiikey Config 1.2 disk before updating the Wiikey and enabled Region Free.

Now that you already updated your Wiikey you only have 2 choices:
- You can downgrade your Wiikey to the version you had, use the Wiikey Config 1.2 disk, enable Region Free and then update your Wiikey to 1.9b or 1.9g (to play SMG).

OR

- You can download the GCOS, the Gamecube application that lets you mix more then 1 Gamecube game in 1 DVD. But instead of putting a Gamecube image you put the Wiikey Config 1.3 disk. You run it, enable Region Free and that's it. For this situation you'll need a Gamecube controller.

Maybe he bought it from someone who said it was a genuine wiikey?
Every game works except SMG on EVERY chip, doesn't mean you have a wiikey

Config discs and update discs is how you can check. So looks like your chip is a bit crappy :/

i think you use a wiikey config with a modified header, then you burn one with the real header and swap the discs after the first one loads

All the symptoms point to a poor quality Wiikey clone. The good quality ones (like my homemade ones

) Update fine. Poor quality Wiikeys have incorrect fuse settings, meaning the update via DVD mechanism is broken. Your friend may have been screwed over by his/her reseller, if you're certain he/she would indeed give you a genuine Wiikey
