my wii’s been hacked since 2009 (not by me) and nothing’s been updated since if that’s relevant information. a few months ago, the wii crashed while playing a game and would turn on but the tv displayed no signal and no wiimotes would connect so i did some research and ended up replacing the bluetooth module and it did work for a month maybe until i was playing it and then the screen glitched out and turned purple for a second before there was no signal. i saw a post on here recently where someone said their wii had no signal and they just unplugged and plugged the av cord back in and it turned on but all glitchy so i tried that thinking if its glitchy at least i can try and back up my data but i did that and it just turned on like normal. then i attempted to back stuff up but it didnt exactly work (i posted another thing about that just before this one, it could relate to this post, i’m not sure)

so anyway, as for the issue in the title, i just went back to playing mario galaxy 2 a few days later and i paused the game to go to the bathroom and when i came back the screen looked like this

so i stared at this for a few seconds, it was also making that buzzing sound then while trying to look stuff up this next screen came up

after staring at this screen for a bit, i just turned the wii off, i didn’t even have to force it to shutdown and then i turned it back on and it was normal again and i went back to playing, there was nothing wrong with my save data either on galaxy 2 at least, it just went back to the last time it was saved. however maybe around thirty minutes later, it turned purple again and i waited a bit to see if the next screen would come up but i just assumed it probably would if i waited a bit longer and turned the wii off (i did have to force it to shutdown this time). but then i turned it back on and it was alright again. i did stop playing after that though

i think this combined with my bootmii issues it could be possible there’s something wrong with the nand. what do you think? i tried looking and i couldnt find anyone with the same exact issues as me so i just think its strange

Re: Wii system memory error : ...
Perhaps try to format it (wii setting). You will lose all saves (perhaps more), but it could be worth it.
14 years - Something has turned to crap. Time to upgrade some apps.

The stoned/spaced-out screen - With the buzzing, it sounds like it's hung. Other games effected ?
Try to re-install the same game/s. Memory & data degrade after long periods.
