    My Wii just started this crap the other day....any suggestions as to what it is and how to fix it?

    upgrade your firmware?
    or buy a new dvd drive?

    i made a topic about a similair problem a while ago, there is a german guide about it somewhere... i will try to find it again...


    its a problem with a cog in the ejecting mechanism


    edit: found it! almost the same problem, should work...
    you can also replace the cog, but then you would have to screw your whole dvd drive open, and have a similair cog...

    Those vids seem similar to my problem but not exactly the same. I just find it odd that once I reset the Wii everything works fine untill I go to eject the disc. For now its not that big of a deal, I just have to power down the Wii when adding a new disc....hopefully it doesn't lead to more problems.

    but you can look into it, just screw your wii open (if your waranty has expired) (BUY A TRIWING) and look at that cog, because i am almost sure that the problem lies there
