Hope you all still use the most advanced controller to date.
What are some of the most disappointing and the most awesome Wii controls?
Let us discuss specific games!
-Fatal Frame 4 (Project Zero 4): Disappointing!
A good game which is literally held back by its controls. It already has a slow pace (which is ok) but not implementing pointer controls in a game in which you constantly use a flashlight is a crime against humanity. The games uses the thumb stick for left/right and the Wiimote tilt sensors for mostly up/down (left/right only has little value). However, the game limits the speed of both (which breaks the immersion of the latter), i.e. you could quickly move the Wiimote upwards to see a ghost at the ceiling, but you have to wait for the game to catch up with you. The game would be so much more playable if it had controls similar to Silent Hill Shattered Memories.
-Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) series: Revolutionary!
One of the games which make me regret the Wii did not keep its original project name (Revolution). Completely changes the beloved franchise. Later entries even allowed for old vs new style matches (plus up to 8 player online matches: 3 CC & 1 Wimmote VS 3 CC & 1 Wiimote). The fact that the vast majority of PES players did not experience the Wii version and keeps playing the old way (since the Wii versions have been discontinued) is like having to watch people enjoying new iterations of Warcraft 1 even though Warcraft 3 has been out. Warcraft 1 may look and sound better (not even kidding), but it is so limiting. The only thing I have to complain about is that shaking the Nunchuk at different speeds does not influence shots (which is technically possible and viable, see Wii Sports Baseball - developers just have to allow for a lot of input range).
