Last week I went to get my SD card out of my wii but it was stuck so I tried the all the gentle ways of pushing it in and hoping it would come out but it didn't. So I used brute force and ended up ripping the plastic at the bottom of the contacts of the SD off. [IMG] I've tried loading homebrew and copying save files off a new SD but it won't recognise it.
Is there any other way to load homebrew with without an SD or a Mod chip?
I have the homebrew channel installed if that helps.

If you have the Homebrew Channel installed, you could possibly load files from your computer by using WiiLoad. Follow the Homebrew Channel FAQ for more information on how to get this working.

You could also wait a bit for the non-modchip dvd lib to be released

Wouldn't you need an SD card to install that?

Possibly. Although, if Team Twiizers were to release an updated version of the Homebrew Channel that could read from a DVD-R, you could update the channel from the internet, without the need for an SD card.

Since your warranty is pretty much screwed anyways, why not open it up and fix the SD-slot?

Agreed - surely you could solder in another SD socket - it'd only be 9 contacts.

Yeah it's over a year old anyway. Im hoping there's just a piece of plastic from the SD card case blocking something so I might open it up.
I can always hope they bring out an update for USB drives.

I've never used it, so I can't really answer that. Most of the homebrew applications aren't very large, so I don't see why it couldn't load anything that an SD card could.

I got Wad manager opening using wii load so I can now install channels off a USB. I'm using WiiloadGUIInstaller for Mac to run the script, which works ok if u don't have any spaces in the file path. The only problem is I can't run homebrew that relies on external files like Quake or emulators but I haven't tried any of the new DVD loading emulators so there is still hope (EDIT they haven't made the yet have they).
