Hacking Wii Backup > Homebrew > USB Loader GX: Fails to open game

Hi all -

My Wii DVD drive is broken, so I am working on getting my ISO's onto a USB drive to play the games. I loaded Homebrew, used Wii Backup Manager to add the game to the drive. Running USB Loader GX 3.0r1272. I amslo have d2x cIOS 3.1 (d2x v6 | current IOS: 58 v 6176

When I open Homebrew > USB Loader GX, it sees the game is there, but when I try to open it a black screen comes up and it exits to homebrew.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

How much broken is your DVD drive? to play game, you need a working drive. If the drive is dead then games can't be played even from SD or USB.
if it's more physical (disc doesn't fit or stay inside) then it should be fine.

Update your d2x to at least v8. v7 adds new features and fixes, v8 is latest stable.
don't use v10r53 (it's beta and broken).

install base57 (not base58, lot of games won't work).
base 56 is fine, but doesn't work with all games.

so :

and try again
