Sweet, now I'm glad I have that Taiko drum from DealExtreme sitting on my shelf doing nothing. Shame the girlfriend has the Wii.

Nope, actually not, I think you can also play just using a Wiimote with the buttons and maybe with Nunchuck+Wiimote w/ Motion Sensing, but I'm not sure about that.

What's certain though is that having the Taiko Drums makes the game a lot better

You don't need the drum to play, you can use the wiimote or the classic controller to play.

But buying a taiko for the wii is a good investment since there is now 3 taiko games avalaible on it.
