But I thought Wii hasn't been "officially" launched in China? I don't see it on the iQue site.

It's been launched in taiwan, which has been under a different government than mainland China for 60 years.

Taiwan games are the same region as Japanese games, and most of the titles available on the island are from Japan. The only Chinese language games published have been Wii Sports/ Wii Sports Resort/ Wii Play/ Wii Fit/ Wii Fit Plus and now this.

Taiwan really gets the worst of all worlds- very few games are in a language they understand and their Wiis are not even online capable beyond downloading system updates (the weather/news channels don't even show up on their screen).

It's hard to tell if they all pirate like crazy b/c Nintendo services them so poorly, or if it's the other way around. Likely just a vicious circle.

I just DL'ed it. It's ID is SMNW01, making it another region.

let me amend that to "functionally the same region". as in, Taiwanese games play on Japanese Wiis (half the Wii's on this island are Japanese imports b/c there was no Taiwan Wii until late 2008), and Japanese games play on Taiwan Wiis. So I guess they're a different region, but I'm not sure it means much.

Well, the other thing is it probably won't read the save for the Japanese version.

Saves for Wii Sport Resort JPN and Taiwan versions aren't interchangeable so I'm guessing it's the same for this game.
