Well it is published by Destineer which usually means the game is bad but it is a port of an Xbox title from 2005 called Close Combat First To Fight.

    Footage from the Xbox game:

That was actually a decent FPS game. Was it as good as Call of Duty? No not really, not even close. Was it a good time waster? Yeah it was, it wasn't a pain to play, nothing bad at all but I can't say I am aching to ever play it again. It was a lot less tedious than The Conduit which for some reason has fans.

From the screens it looks pretty much unchanged graphically from the original. Here is a "hands on" preview from Destructoid:

So its hardly Call of Duty but it looks like it wont be as bad as Jurassic: The Hunted or Far Cry Wii. Downloading it for the sake of it, might give it a try when I have nothing else to play.

Lol, this is my 3,000th post? Really?

The main thing I'm looking at is splitscreen, since most of the great Wii shooters lack a splitscreen or local play (outside of the lame Squadmate thing in CoD). Odds are this has nothing on CoD4, but if it plays like a somewhat respectable CoD clone and has splitscreen, I'm in. Even for Destineer.

Exploding buildings, guns and helicopters. According to the box art this will be epic.

I don't ever remember seeing exploding buildings in the original and I doubt this cheap ass port would include them.

    Oh yeah 2.05GB scrubbed.

That's the original game. There's another Wii boxart though, but that's probably for other regions.

This game just reminds of what a wonderful kingdom Wii is. You've got the great big, white Nintendo palace smack dab in the middle, and then all the third-party dregs hanging around just outside the palace gates begging for food of any kind. [IMG]

Can't even get upset with publishers anymore when they toss something like this onto the system. They spend big bucks, they usually lose. They invest minimal effort, and they usually break even or make a moderate profit. Now, if we could just convince Valve to port Half-Life 2 over to the system with IR functionality.

Well, some efforts pay off all right. Umbrella Chronicles, Modern Warfare Reflex, Red Steel, Monster Hunter Tri, Okami, World at War, Sonic and the Secret Rings did pretty well in terms of sales, so ya get as much cash as you invest your efforts. When you make horses-barbie-imagine-related shovelware- alas, poor Yorick! This one lookes like a usual third-party cash-in Wii-make, but since the original game was all right...why not to give it a spin? As seen on CNN and stuff....

This is the thread I meant to post in!

I'm download the compressed version right now. 2.04 gigs (although that's also counting the rar compression).

I think this has splitscreen. From Nintendo.com's info on the game...

I may be obsessing about the splitscreen, but it's desperately needed. Otherwise I'll have to stick to Quantum for my local play shooting.

    So, gave it a try.

    Ugh. Just ugh.

Broken controls. You move overly slow and the turning is way too sensitive and way too fast. Not to mention customization is barebones so you can't fix that. Not to mention the splitscreen multiplayer they boasted is not there, as far as I can tell. Clearly just a shovelware game, poorly ported and just plain boring.

The game was not good on XBox so why should a port be better for Wii...

I think CoD:MW and Conduit are good enough muliplayer-FPS and Singleplayer is IMO a bit overrated in FPS!
