yes, because in the first game Ashley was investigating the mysterious vanishing of her parents when she was 3 years old, she thought they were dead. She was raised by her aunt Jessica. When she turned 14 years old, she got a package, inside it was a letter from her father saying he's waiting for her on Blood Edward Island! And that's where the story starts.

In this sequel, she is investigating her mother's death.

I won't spoil the story for you.
