I guess you don't really need to know japanese to play this..

Anyway willing to tell us how the new controls are?

I'm guessing like the wii sports tennis controls.

Also,
this is playable if you played the gc version..

There's supposed to be at least two control methods, at least I think I read about such. There's supposed to be one where you have full control over your characters and such and play similarly to how it played originally. And then a mode where they move on their own and you simply swing the wiimote to make them hit it, basically like the tennis in wii sports.

I'm probably wrong, but I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.

Yeah one mode lets you control your character with the nunchuck and swing with the wiimote and the other is nunchuck less.

Its a shame they wasted dev time on this, instead of a NEW game but whatever that is what Nintendo does now.

Yeah, At the least they should have incorporated new modes/characters instead of just new control methods. Still this is the first decent Wii release in a little less than a month.

It's not like you can include many changes into a Tennis game, anyway...

If anyone has played both this and the GC version, I'd like to hear about what the speed is like. The nasty rumor I've heard is that the speed on the Wii version had to be slowed down significantly so that the Wiimote could keep up.

Lets see:

Building a game up from scratch rather than working the GC game around the Wiimote.
Add Online.
Add more modes.
Add more courts that represent Mario Galaxy and Super Paper Mario
Spruce the graphics up a bit.
Improve AI
Include various other elements.
Add an extra mode that is like the RPG bits from the GBC/GBA games.

Mario Power Tennis was the best Mario Sport game in GC.
The idea is that if there are more and more wii, people which never played it on Gamecube can buy this with the wiimote gameplay and it can be a million seller.

If there was a Wii Mario Tennis RPG style like the GBC/GBA ones.. I wouldn't have my arms anymore.. loved those games.. still waiting for the DS sequel :/

Anyway, they're probably working on a new game.. Nintendo would be stupid not to give the Wii a new Mario Tennis and Golf!
