    I don't think it's a knock off of anything.
    I played the (U) version for quite a while, and it's surprisingly responsive and even satisfying as a shooter.
    Not a lot of depth though, the missions are a bit repetitive and the cut scenes are basically 2D still images made by Europeans( I believe this game was made by Italians ) to look like Japanese anime`.
    But I also think they never wanted the game to be too complex, they just wanted to achieve a polished shooter and they delivered IMO.
    As the UK review said, just take it for what is is, and you won't be disappointed.

    It's funny how people still judge a game by it's cover, I guess that's why many developers just concentrate on making an appealing cover image and forget to back it up with a decent game, if people only buy it for its cover anyway......
