In the right hands, this game could be absolutely fantastic but I suspect it's absolutely not.

Just saw the movie of this last night. It's one of the craziest most colourful movies I've ever seen. Imagine FZero was made into a movie. If this game is as fast and crazy as the movie it shuld be good.

^ Agreed. I haven't seen the movie but the game screenshots scream "FZero" "ExtremeG" and "Wipeout" to me and if it's half as any of those, it should be decent. Having said that, the screenshots look a bit weak so I'll reserve my judgement until I've played it as Hollywood isn't exactly synonymous with good games (or good movies nowadays for that matter).

its a preety solid game , for a movie based one.
the graphics are great , flowing smoothly in 480p, and the controls are awesome too ( the usual tilt controls + smashing/jumping on other cars by a fast motion of the wiimote).
you should try it if you like f-zero, or just need some time off mario kart with another arcade racer.

DS game is so damn good, in fact I reckon shine it up and it'll make a good home console game. How does this one compare?

I played it and it's quite a good game!
graphics are better than decent and controls work great.
Also a lot of possibilities to knock out your opponents and do crazy stunts
