Portal should report file size as 89x100MB not x50MB based on the files I'm seeing and the NFO.

Does that mean this game is Dual Layer?

If so there will be tons of new threads on DL compatibility (brand/burner/etc) we haven't seen yet.

Not just cliff falling abilities.

Sonic games are only good if their fast. If you have time to stop and think for more than a few seconds, then its not a good Sonic game in my opion.

I think I'll buy this game regardless of how well it does.
Been let down by sonic games too much in the past couple years.
But this one, it just sounds better the more I hear about it.

I do hope its as fast paced as it looks :3
Though Im guessing playing as super sonic is still out of the question :/
But eh, maybe they'll make a sequal xD.

The newsgroups files are in a different structure... Not as many and they are 100MB.... I wonder if I'm downloading the right release.

Could it be that one set is unscrambled, and the other is scrambled, so someone re-rared them into a different format?

No, I was downloading the wrong thing. The release is 89x50. I was downloading pdx-sonic.xxx which is the PS3 game, so it's on a Blu-Ray disk, hence the 9 gig size. I'm getting the right one now.

Hmm, instead of bothering with ISOs and junk, I bought the game ;P
Its quite worth it, though maybe a ten or two off if your not a sonic fan.
Story is a little weird. Reminds me of Sonic Shuffle somehow. The whole, jump into another world thing I guess.
The story book thing reminds me of Shinning Soul otherwise xD Maybe Astal a bit.
Gameplay may feel funky and even messy at first. But once you get used to the controls and level up sonic a bit the game gets alot better.
A good sense of speed that I havent seen in a sonic game since Sonic 3 (possibly Sonic CD)
Sonic Heroes had it a bit, bit I cant seem to stand playing it for very long. Just too glitchy and frusterating.
Hopefully SEGA will get the drift and see that this is a step in the right direction. Theres alot of room to improve and alot of potentoil. So the next sonic game better take its basics from this ;P

Anyway, been looking around for the game info, and no info on medal requirments. Anyone know what it takes for silver and gold medals?

Oh and anyone else have weird troubles were the game seems rather choppy and animation doesnt seem smooth at all. (that and sometimes the camera jerks during jumps. Though I dont seem to be noticing it now strangly... Maybe I just got used to em? dunno)
I have the actual game, but I cant help but think it should be smoother. Might jsut be my TV tuner card.

Who would have guessed!? After a long period of terrible Sonic games (as in virtually all of them after Sonic Adventure, minus Sonic Rush) Sega comes out with a decent Sonic! Bravo for reminding us about the glory days of the Genesis and Game Gear!

Hey! Sonic Rivals wasn't toooo shabby, although I really look forward to playing this one. It does sound like it's the Sonic game I've been waiting for.
