WI FI Questions !

    ive been using my sisters DSL over wi fi for a few days now and i LOVE IT ! i upgraded from 56gay but i have some questions

    1. is there any way she can SEE what i download or what web sites i go to lol ..... ?

    2. lets say i download a movie will it slow down her internet ?

    1) Not easily, if you had a firewall on your PC then its highly unlikely.

    2) Yes, regardless of method (P2P, FTP, etc) it will slow down her Internet connection because you are using her bandwidth.

    im downloading at 20 KBS and UPLOADING AT 20 kbs think she will notice ?

    That would depend on upload speed on the line, if its 25KB/s then yes.
    EDIT: Typically using over 75% your upload speed is far too much, but I find that over 60% and I can notice it in general web surfing

    1. um er... if you are using seperate pc's i don't believe she can access your web history from another pc. er... if you are using the same pc i need more details.

    2. Presumably. The faster you are downloading the slower her speed will be, since the speed is shared.

    as far as i understand.

    1) As long as you dont use one of those programs (where you have to log in, and it has its own browser) you'll be fine. Unless of course she askes the internet company " Gimme all the sites 'ive' visited!!" But even then i HIGHLY doubt they even keep the records.
