Why you can't climb up in Fallout

    I think that's pretty funny. I never really realized that there are in fact no ladders in Fallout 3 or Oblivion. Everything is staircases. I guess ladders can't survive the apocalypse or weren't invented during the medieval times.

    Figured this wasn't really "news" so I posted it here. Rather funny though.

    Easier to make an AI walk up and down stairs than go up and down a ladder, easier on the animation team to. It makes sense but I'll admit it's still kinda funny

    I didn't notice it either, untill I saw a ladder which you could use as a sort of loading door in Fallout.

    Lol, never thought of it, but yeah it's true, no ladders at all in those beautiful games!

    well there are ladders, in the sewers and such
    just you cant climb them in real time

    Ladders can sometimes be awkward. Sometimes you don't seem to be able to dismount them properly without a lot of shuffling, falling off or general annoyance, depending on how they're set up.
