Dude you could backup the saves with savedatafiler, and then re-download them with emunand, and restoring the saves if the emunand doesn't have the games in sysnand, your logic is very strange on why you want to use sysnand like that, also you could make a new emunand that is a reflection of the sysnand, and never use sysnand again
Cant format sysnand, I have a ton of eshop games there with saves etc... if I format I cant re-download them from eshop. Plus why would I format it.. the whole point is to keep it! If the yare linked then CIAS are wrapped every time and you can accidentaly wipe your data by going to data management. keeping them linked is the most terrible idea! how is it a backward approach? Things that work now will always work. So if something comes around that needs emunand, then you boot into emunand and play it. The whole point is that you have option of both! It doesnt take anything away by having that option. We'll have games requiring 9.4 in 6 months or so, those can be played in Emunand, but that doesnt mean that current 300+ games cant be played in sysnand forever.
Once upon a time GW offered this, but ditched it... The reason is that when new functions are added to the FW and games utilize them you can not those games w/o emuNAND and FW w/ those functions. While it appears you understand this, think of it from their perspective... Most people will not understand, and they will get hoards of emails for support because 10.3 FW games don't work. Also think about the fact that there are many 4.X users that wouldn't be able to play most of the 3DS's library at this point w/o emuNAND as far too many functions have been added since then.
I would have ditched it too, it's a customer support nightmare to do anything else.
get a sky3ds and update the console if using emunand bothers ya
That makes no sense.. just have it behave exactly how it does not, except if you hold a key combo it boots into sysnand gw mode... there is no way someone who "doesnt understand" would ever get into sysnand gw mode by accident.
You seem to be retarded? You do know that you dont have to get sky3ds for that right? you can just remove emunand and you can boot into sysnand gw mode... at which point you can use Gateway in Sysnand without emunand.... but thats not what I am trying to accomplish here.
You grossly underestimate the abilities of morons to break things that most people would find airtight. :-)
because I want my game history saved and tracked in Sysnand, same place where its been tracked for the last 3+ years. Thats where all my streetpassing is etc... raelly if I didnt have to use emunand for CIAS i would use sysnand for everything.
Yes, but that only disables the update patch. (roms will ask you to update in this mode if they contain a higher FW than you're on).Hold Up while you enter GW Mode? I think thats a feature
Step 1: Make a backup of ypur current sysnand
Step 2: Format emunand. Emunand and sysnand will be identical to current sysnand an linked.
Step 3: Take out SD card, format sysnand.
Step 4: Use emunand always and act as if it was your sysnand.
Step 5: ???
Step 6: Profit
ok only option for you2 problems with that setup.
1) If you are away from an internet connection (traveling etc), and your 3DS dies or crashes or whatever, you cant get back in to emunand to play games.
2) If makes it difficult to play legitimate carts. You have to switch to classic mode and then back to gateway mode etc to go between games..
ok only option for you
1) update sysnand to 9.5 and sell your gateway card
2) buy a sky3ds
3) never have to deal with the dreadfulness of using emunand or gateway again as its obviously not for you
well your not going to be happy either way, so.....there you have it a solution with no emunand so nothing to cry aboutWell, that wins most useless advice reward hands down!
