Hacking Why is my cia install speed so slow?

On my O3DSXL I have used a variety of different installers, all with the same install speeds. My maximum was only about 18 minutes to install, that was Omega Red.

Your card does 55mb/10 minute on a PC? Then yes, turn it back.
Does it happen in the 3DS? It is not a microSD problem.

Nope, on my 3ds. Installing cia and yeah.

Now it's 17 minutes in and still 86/856 mb

On pc transfer speed is fine like 27 MB/s

Using big red menu

Hnngghh the desire to return this thing is high but what if they don't accept it by saying that the transfer rate in pc is fine.

Try with any other SD first.
I don't think it is an SD problem, why would you return it?

Ah yeah, gotta try installing it with my 4GB lexar freebies from when I bought my 3ds.

46 minutes and still at 215mb. Can someone confirm that this is indeed normal?

No, that is not normal.
The process is slow, but that is way too much.
800Mb should install in perhaps 10 or 15 minutes. Not more.

I had this problem, and I just ended up returning it. It was a 128 GB transcend... The write speed started out fast, but after formatting it 3 times, I noticed that the speed got slower and slower for some reason... even checking with the hwtest took a long time... it was 1 hour and it was 5 percent done... returned it.

Subpar in the reading department for a class 10 but OKish, the writing speed is good.

But why is installing cia that slow.. I think even my lexar is far faster, lemme try installing cia to the lexar sd first.

I would suggest starting from scratch by formatting your 3ds if you can and see if the problem persists and install a clean CIA like the region free pokemon games or like I said mk7, maybe a previous CIA installation has messed up your nand somehow.

I'm 100% certain that something is wrong because my 4gb class 4 lexar (the free one packaged with the 3ds) went to 50mb in just 1 minute (compared to 10 minute on the sandisk)

Now it's like 150mb and keep going every second and it's 3 minute in

The sandisk's speed is literally 1/10 that of my lexar.

This is prospesterous

Like the lexar is slower when copying files on my laptop, and the write speed is slow too.

But it's fast when installing cia

While it's the opposite for my sandisk.

Remember it seems faster because there is less data that needs to be written the card is much smaller

For some reason that Sandisk and your 3DS don't go well with each another. Unfortunatelly the card is good so maybe the won't change it, but if you can get a different SD card, try a Samsung EVO I know that works OK.
