1) It only has 3D. What a huge difference /sarcasm
2) the games suck, are bad quality and they suck
3) it looks ugly
4) I dont have a smartphone yet
5) Its not much better than the DSi
6) there's probably a newer version the day after I buy it
7) the 3D sucks, it's a handheld and if you move it a bit the whole 3D effect is gone, while there's a gyro sensor and a motion sensor in it for some reason.
8) the battery sucks
9) screen isnt too bright ( I know it's because of the 3D but it's still not bright)
10) I already have a DSi and a DS Lite and I still regret the purchase of my DSi.
11) It's not hacked yet.
12) the internal hardware is from 2006 or something I mean wtf?! at least put a dual core in there!

Untill they get PS3 quality on a DS I'm not impressed.
The Vita's not really close to a PS3. It'll take ages for a nintendo handheld to reach PS3 quality.

With the current technology, we'd need a fan going on inside the handheld (to prevent overheat) to make a handheld that is as powerful as a PS3.

I wouldn't like that.

Come back in about 5-6 years then, because even the Vita doesn't come close to the PS3.

I'm not saying the Vita has ps3 like quality, I'm just saying that I'm not impressed at all by the 3DS.

I think it's pretty obvious that as of right now, the $250 price tag, combined with the relative lack of "killer app" games beside those that are preloaded on the hardware, is one reason most weren't going to jump on it yet. I myself wouldn't have paid full price for the 3DS if I didn't have some help. I'm glad I have it now though, but yea...

I'm still hoping to see some more compelling 3D games. I hear tell that Splinter Cell 3D is basically a 3D-ified Chaos Theory... is this true?

Other than that, only thing I'm really looking forward to specifically for 3DS is Saint's Row and MML 3.

a lot of you here can't seem to afford a 3ds, it can't be that hard to get a job to buy one? even if you are under the age to work i am sure you can help around the house to get some cash, as for me i am going to buy one, why the hell not, i am bored of the ds (and it's graphics) and i like a handheld i can take with me on the bus or while i am at the hairdressers or something, i was impressed by the 3d effects and the fact that it has luigis mansion 2 coming out on the console (and resident evil ) makes me want to buy one now, it doesn't matter if i get bored of the dam thing cause i can play something else and take it out when both games that i want on the 3ds comes out.

when a newer revision comes out i can easily trade in the older mode before it goes down in price so i won't loose much, the only thing that will really make me feel gutted if they release a purple 3ds, then i would be really mad because that is the colour i really wanted.

i can remember buying the old original fat ds on launch, i hated everything about it (small horrible screens, clunky d-pad heavy to hold in hands), i only had 1 or 2 games with it too, as soon as the ds lite was announced i immediately traded in that old ugly abomination, i couldn't even hold the thing in my hands because it was so big and bulky (and gave me horrible hand cramps), i really did hate the ds fat.

That's a bit pretentious of you to say.

I do have a job, but between expenses like food, rent, and the like, it's not exactly like I can just go and make a $250 impulse buy.

Maybe if I had a job related to what I studied in in university, but state of Florida still has a ~10% unemployment rate. And I've been looking all over the country for two straight years now.

It's called Splinter Cell Chaos Theory for a reason.
I was asking because the boxes here don't really show all that much to indicate which Splinter Cell it is (a redone one, or an all new one). Chaos theory was my favorite entry of the series, and I still have it on Xbox. It'd be neat as hell to have that experience on the go.

These are hard times we are living. Even buying a game is kind of hard for most of us.

1) It's imperfect technology. The 3D is not flawless and there's plenty of complaints I've heard. If you switch between looking at the 3D screen and non-3D screen you can easily lose the effect and it'll take a while to get it back. Plus it can cause headaches and it's annoying to hold your 3DS at a "sweet spot". My friend tried it and had the same issue and, in his words, the sweet spot "defeats the purpose of having a DS" (not saying the 3DS is another DS model, but it defeats the purpose of a handheld product like the DS).

2) The games. All my enthusiasm for games for it has since died. Nintendo first parties are nice but I realized if I bought a system based on those that I'll end up getting screwed again. Third party games look mediocre or I can just get on a HD console. Portability isn't as big a factor as people make it out to be. And for first parties, I don't need N64 games, I want new games.

3) With a Vita around the corner for the same price, I'd obviously spend $250 on that before this. The graphics are better, the features are better, the controls are better, and its alright looking to get a solid library to open with (more so than the 3DS).

I may buy a 3DS for review purposes but I feel like I'd be flushing $300+ (for the system and games) down the toilet.

Two reasons. Lack of good games, and lack of money. However, now that Ocarina 3D is released, my first reason is no longer. I'm saving up to get one, and I'll have it within a week

I won't be getting a 3DS for many reasons.

1. I'm basically done with gaming. Oh, I'll still play games, but mostly just the old stuff I already have, or games I can DL for free.
2. I'm blind in one eye, so 3DS's main feature is useless to me.
3. It's too expensive for what it is.
4. Useless to me until I can play ROMs on it for free.
5. It's too internet-happy for my tastes.
6. Poor design causes it to damage itself. (top screen scratch issue)
7. Tired of Nintendo cutesy crap and over-abundance of shovelware.
8. Pathetic battery life. (just wait until the battery starts losing capacity and it will be even worse)
10. After enjoying many excellent GBA games, I found the DS library severely lacking. I don't expect the 3DS to change that opinion.

I could go on and on, but really, what's the point?

I got one to try out at Target because they have a 90 day no restocking fee return policy. I wanted to try it out because my Nintendo Fan boy friend swore by it. So I just borrowed SF4, and Ocarina....

I am sure this has all been said but this is why I am FOR SURE returning it. 250 for this is ridiculous. The psp 1 has better graphics, and a MUCH MUCH better screen. Yea 250 in the bigger picture isn't that much money but that price does not equal the power of the hardware. If the psp 1 is getting a better visuals, I can't imagine how the VITA will make this look, and for the same price. It's more so principle that I feel ripped off.

Also I have big hands. The kinda hands that can easily palm a basketball. The buttons are too flat and condensed so I cant really get a good grip without getting wrist pain. The DS lite is better just because the buttons are fatter and bigger, but I still get wrist pain from that...The PSP feels great though.

The 3d itself is shameful. This is the innovative selling point? No way this is not causing some kind of eye damage. Everyone I talked to gets a headache. Reading a book or starring too much at a computer screen causes eye strain so I can't imagine what this is doing. Just like with cell phones, people always said it was safe...I said it wasn't because my head hurt if I talked too long on the phone, and low and behold we find out now it causes cancer. Shocking. I can not believe Nintendo would push something like this out which is geared for children just so they can have some claim they made 3d with no glasses. For sure this tech was not ready.

Last point is I realized what games would I be buying this for? I own like 3 different versions of Ocarina. I own Sf4 and Super SF4...I was like I bought 250 dollar handheld to play smaller versions of games I already have. It's like what is wrong with me lol.

I will admit that Ocarina does look fantastic...I just wish it was on a 5 inch higher res screen!

Sorry, but this post makes absolutely no sense.

First off, it's over twice as powerful as the original PSP. If you can't tell the difference, get your eyes checked. Same for the headaches, yes, some people get them, but not everyone and I don't think Nintendo of all companies (with all the health and safety focus) would manufacture something that causes permanent damage. Also, the "cellphones cause cancer!!!!!1!!11" argument has been proven wrong numerous times since the original "news". DOn't believe everything you hear on the Internet.

Just because you say you're a Nintendo fanboy doesn't make everything you write credible.

As far as the cancer and cell phones issue... Google WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION. There are official studies that have just been released. My brother is a neurologist at Johns Hopkins that I have spoken to about this... Dr. Sanjay Gupta just did a huge special on this. I mean i could go on and on with credible sources. It's nothing u should stop using a phone over but ALL doctors say always use a head set or blu tooth, anything that gets the phone away from your head. The warnings are in ALL cell phone manuals which people like yourself do not read. Nothing causes cancer 100 percent, not even smoking. You just increase your chances heavily. I did not say it FOR SURE causes eye damage but it's not looking good if its burning peoples eyes lol. I mean why would u risk it for a little depth in a freakin video game.

As far as the headaches. I have talked to about 20 people...2 said they did not get headaches. Those 2 people TURN THE 3D off when they play. If you are super human and can hold that 3ds PERFECTLY still in the "Sweet Spot" then you sir have super human eyes.

I DID not say the psp was more powerful, I said the graphics look better. That mainly comes from the screen. I have yet to play anything on the 3ds that could not of been on a psp 1. Sure it will get better with time but by then there will be like 2 different re-designs and price drops by then. My main point was that is sad because the VITA is going to be far superior for the same price.

Credibility? You are guilty of what you accuse. You should read before you speak , or the very least GOOGLE before you speak.
