As for the sponsorship stuff, it's because you don't just walk up to a sponsorship company and go "plz moni". I've tried to reach out, hoping we could net something better than Windows key sites, but surprisingly, they're pretty much the best you can get, outside of companies that want far more spam than we're willing to put up with, aka pay-per-referrals or biweekly posts.
It basically comes down to one thing, and that is that things like forums are easily overshadowed in comparison to big Youtubers. Mainly because all Youtubers really have to do is read a script and get paid. Having to deal with big ad banners can get tedious and can (or mostly will) get blocked by someone who uses an Adblocker. So, it does seem like a better choice for everyone to choose sponsorships that don't make the site unnavigatable.
If they are legit then fair play to them
99% of all sponsorships aren't genuene. "Console-like graphics and over (idk how many) champions", people recieving the sponsorships just have to lie to get the money. And even then, do you see anyone making use of these sponsorships?
