Why does ISO Files seem to run smoother than WBFS with Dolphin?

I used this program to convert iso files to wbfs to save space.

It seems that WBFS files run more choppy on dolphin.. But run fine on Wii?

It's a pretty straightforward answer really: PCs like ISO files, and the Wii uses kind of its own WBFS format:

As wbfs isn't a native PC format the speed the data is being decrypted may/will causes issues (probably giving you the choppy run) - PCs can decrypt ISO files much quicker as it's a standard format. Dolphin can also read CISO & GCZ files: the first I wouldn't really bother with as it won't compress dummy files on a Wii disc, nor can it be read on a Wii, and gives you smaller compression than wbfs (but better speeds), GCZ on the other hand is the best of both worlds, but again is not supported on an actual Wii...

Your choice: if you've got the space (or can afford to buy more) the standard ISO format is the best. If you have a Wii as well, perhaps you're only playing certain games on Dolphin for that higher resolution? Just convert those odd games to ISO (using Wii Backup Manager)? If you're rarely playing on the Wii these days but want to save space, maybe look at GCZ (can use for both GC & Wii titles) - depends on how you're playing your Wii games these days really.

So it isn't just me right? Should I convert all my ISO File to cISO files? It will save space, even more than WBFS format could right? Will it effect performance? I'll be using it on dolphin.

That's why I prefer ISO over WBFS. The WBFS files are fine for a Wii/Wii U with vWii built in. For a Dolphin emulator, if you have a problem with WBFS then just switch them to ISO files then. :)

cISO performs as well (if not, better?) than ISOs right? Do you recommend cISOs instead?

cISO will unfortunately save LESS space than WBFS as it doesn't compress the dummy wii format files, but yes it should give you at least the same speeds as standard ISO (maybe a bit quicker). If you've got the free space I'd agree with azoreseuropa and stick with good ole ISO, but if space is limited then go for cISO - 99% of the time it'll be wbfs<cISO<ISO with cISO being closer in size to ISO than WBFS... Personally I haven't tried cISO myself on Dolphin, so before you go all out, try one game, see if the space saved is worth it in the first place, then run the game to see if it works well enough, before you convert them all ;)

I never tried it before but you can try it and see which one you like the best.

My guess would be whatever libraries Dolphin uses aren't all that well optimized. Either way, if you have the space, you should generally go with clean dump. Yeah, they take up more space, but they generally have less issues, even if those issues are minor.
