Why do people hate gay people?

Call me close-minded, but I don't see any reason at all why people should make fun of/hate gays. It doesn't make sense at all. Every day at school, people at my school make mean jokes/threats about gays. Is it because it's "wrong"? I think gay people are being treated like black people in the 20th century, albeit a bit less harsh.

EDIT: I am currently asexual, but that might end soon

I have some gay friends, but they understand that I am not interested in that life style. They accept that just as I accept them.

As a fellow Christian, i find it harder to want to tell people im a christian because of all the "Christians" like this that make us look terrible.

Anyways. The following is my personal qualms. Not an attack mind you, just personal perceptions and biases.

I honestly dont mind gays. What i mind is someone that demands that i know, understand, and advocate gay rights. I dont like gays or anyone, really, that forces me to accept their views. I might find a gay or a lesbian to be strange or different because it doesnt line up with my perception of the universe, but im only one person.

Gays are generally pretty nice. They give you fashion advice (which i have little or none of) they are generally friendly, tidy, and decent to be around.

What i cant stand are gays that dress flamboyantly, act like females, talk like females, lisp words, or make threads asking whats wrong with gays for attention. It becomes less that i dont like gays, and more of i dont like you (gays) because you are annoying, and i happen to pin you being gay on as a bonus insult. A way to categorize the people i dont like.

But all i have to do is wait. They will die out eventually lol (
