Can somebody shed light on this. I usually delete the News and Weather channels with AnyTitle Deleter to avoid a cluttered Wii Menu. Why is it that NTSC-U discs don't care about those channels missing, but PAL and NTSC-J discs try to install them? What is the Wii checking for when deciding to force an update?
What's interesting is that it doesn't matter what version your system menu is. I just upgraded to 4.0U, and my old PAL Wii Chess disc with the 3.1E update still wants to install the weather and news channels!
