Hacking Why can't I use red DMA mode?

Apparently Shiren 5 requires it but when I try using red DMA for any game my DS just freezes. Firmware related? Maybe it's my SD? I'm on 181 with a legit 8GB, even went and formatted it Panasonic but that didn't change anything

I had the same problem. Turned out to be the read/write speed of my Transcend 8 GB Class 6 microSDHC.

After installing the patched version to a Transcend 2 GB Class 6 microSDHC with a better read/write speed the game now works using
Red DMA mode.

Ah I was afraid of that, thanks for confirming. Hopefully the game will be playable on yellow DMA eventually
