movie= 750 MB 1 file ISO = tightly packed 30-50 files+ 3-6 GB ( .r01, .r02 etc) the uploaders only pack it that tight because its much easier to upload

    What ISP are you on?

I'm using Rogers Express. I download from hosts like Megaupload. I download around 1mb - 1.3mb per second and get games in 45minutes'ish on average (depending on the size of the game).

Because you have a slow internet connect? I'm really not sure what you're looking for in creating this thread.

1)Wii games are bigger, 4.3+ GB compared to films which are 1.3gb max, normally around 700mb.
2)More people get films than wii games so the availability and sources is going to be fewer.

Movies are tiny compared to Wii games. Movies are something like 5x smaller than Wii games. And if you get them from torrents, just look at the seeders/leechers. Compare to movies. Movies have more seeders, thus faster speed.

As we are all thinking, if your game downloading (illegally) is so slow why not go rent/buy your games and rip them yourself. Since we promote downloading games illegally on gbatemp.net all of a sudden.....

    Two cents...

I already own the game I'm trying to download. I want to have a backup since my kids are3n't as careful with the discs as they should be. Just trying to prevent having to buy games more than once.

It's the same answer as to the question why you can't drive your monster truck in an alley while you can drive the bicycle in there just fine.

There are many, many factors to torrent speeds and time.

Could have something to do with the fact that Wii ISO's are much larger than video...

It could also have something to do with the fact that there are less Wii ISO Seeders than there are Movie Seeders.

And it can also do alot with the Seed/leech ratio. If there are ton more leechers than seeders, then everyone is competing with each other for bandwidth. Giving you even slower download times. Like how Super Smash Bros, Wii's most popular game has 250 seeds and nearly 1000 leechers. Thats 4 downloaders to every one uploader. Its no wonder why some of them take days.

All of your guy's speeds are like lightning compared to mine 26.6KB/sec MAX and high speeds like 500-600KB/sec only, [IMG]

Offtopic: Does Port Forwarding torrents make your downloads go faster then the given rate your supposed to go like I'm supposed to have 26.6KP/s does it make it faster then that? Never got to Port Forward correctly, and does UseNet give you high speeds or just MAX speed of your given rate? Gonna google that [IMG]

usenet gives you the speed of your connection always (give or take 1mb) so whatever your connection speed max is that's what you usually download at.

If we are in fact talking about illegally downloading, here's my two cents: stay away from public trackers. You almost never can max your connection to public trackers. Usenet also works fine, but you'll have to pay for it - I don't know if xlned has free trials anymore.

some isps offer free news services (like mine) for usenet. as long as your with them you can download as much as you like all it costs is your bandwidth. check your isp homepage and look for news services or contact them and ask if they offer a news service.
