The people with problems are always a bit louder than the happy customers..
I've got a G6 lite and had an initial corruption problem that a format solved, and haven't had a problem since.
From what I understand the G6 3G (is that what you're getting) is quite well built too.
I can't remember if it's the Ewin or the EZFlash that's the tank of the bunch, but I'll let somebody else fill you in on that.
Bottom line is, I'm very happy with mine.

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
