Why are Scene releases cut up into so many parts?

    Just seems weird that they wouldn't pack it in larger parts.

    so they can be uploaded, part by part on sites such as megaupload and such.

    scene doesnt use rapidshare they use private ftp sites, the files are separated into tons of parts because back when the internet was slow and unreliable connections dropped out all the time and corrupting one piece of a smaller file sucks much less than losing the entire huge file.

    It's also easier/faster to compress multiple smaller files, compared to trying to super compress larger files to get it to a similar total size.
