Sure, he's just using the old parallel port mod and a video capture card.

But yeah, its still modding he was just too cheap to buy a chip.

This is old stuff? How come I've never heard of it! The only problem I've got with this is that it's played on a computer's tiny screen. And it doesn't even take up the whole screen... [IMG]

Too cheap to pirate? [IMG] That's a new one!

Guide would be appreciated... Where exactly does he plug it into his Wii? Do you have to take the Wii apart, or does it plugin via usb?

    This is ancient.
Support has been dropped because the guy did all he could do.
It supports streaming of files to the DVD drive, which is awsome and it only uses 4 wires.

    tehskeen.com has a download and a guide.

I don't think it's worth the trouble.. If you are going to be opening it up and soldering 4 wires, you may as well get a chip.

This is very old, before modchips were out on the Wii...if you look on the website that you provided it says February 2007.

This basically uses your PC as the "modchip" to send code to the Wii's DVD drive. The fact that it's on the computer screen is just a video capture card. You can do this with any console.

If your PC is next to your TV you can just use your Wii as normal...only problem is that you have to run the software on your PC each time you want to play a copied disc.

modchip makers took the information learned from this tool to program a chip to do the same thing. The fact that it's so simple is why it works with a PIC like the wiininja.
