supermariobrosx.org is dead. First the forum had an SQL error, now the whole website has an ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE. Whoever owns it needs to know their website is dead. They need a better server. Now nobody can download SMBX (except for people who look up mirrors). Even isup.me says it's down. Will anyone fix this?

So the whois data is hidden. You can try the contact info there as many times it will go to somewhere not in the domain system.
Alternatively you could try the usual email addresses that people set up for this -- [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] , however as the website is unable to even connect then that is not so hopeful -- I am guessing here someone forgot to pay the hosting bill or something.

In these situations you can also try things like https://web.archive.org/web/*/supermariobrosx.org to bring up old versions of the site to see if people left contact info.

https://web.archive.org/web/20150501231752/http://www.supermariobrosx.org/wiki/Community mentions some other places but http://knuckles96.prophpbb.com appears to be disabled at present, and later versions of https://web.archive.org/web/20150425125658/http://knuckles96.prophpbb.com/? would suggest it got hacked (not a particularly shocking turn of evens for a small PhpBB hosted forum but hey).

Thanks to the archive page I know the one responsible for it goes by Joey Miller so I typed in Joey Miller smbx into a search engine and it spat https://www.facebook.com/supermariobrosx/?fref=photo back at me.

Oh and I forgot to say, as someone that has seen this many times over the years do take your own backups of little hacks/fan projects/info pages.... as they seldom stick around and have a nasty habit of being DMCAed or something.

Also the "someone [that] knows" seems to be the owner of the domain and administrator of the site in question.

Yeah... but the new domain is better than the original "SuperMarioBros.org" which Nintendo got mad at them for.
