I have time to install A9LH, I simply have no need for it.
I can already have custom themes and play games via rxTools emuNAND. Menuhax failed me twice over these past 3 months, and I can live with such absurdly low failure rate. My basic needs for gaming and customization are fulfilled, why would I need more?

This is going to sound crazy, but I actually like doing this kind of stuff, such as install arm9loaderhax, on my O3DS XL. So I did it just for fun and for all the extra features of course (especially the possibility to restore a NAND backup without hard mod before the system completely boots). It took me almost three hours, but I was really slow, double checking every step I did. Also I waited until they made a method without the need of any king of programming skills, which I really don't have at all.

EDIT: Just for let you know, you waste a lot of time just by waiting for NAND and emuNAND backup, stuff like that, at least if you follow completely the Plailect's guide, which is the safest and easiest way for the arm9loaderhax, but I guess you already now that :)

Menuhax and Gateway work for me just fine. Why change now?

I repeat: SYSNAND BRICK RESTORE WITHOUT A HARDMOD.

I too love doing this stuff.
And for you lazy people, listen: You don't have to concentrate just on the arm9loaderhax procedure. While the NAND Backup/Restore or Downgrade, you can do anything else and chill. I have modded over 5 consoles now and all were successful.
If I have enough requests, I might start installing a9lh for y'all for some money. Of course, w/ hardmod installation.

Because I have no clue what it is, I'm using a 2ds (doubt that that matters at all), and because rxtools is working just fine for me :). If there are more pros than cons, I may switch but I'm not doing anything till I know more about what it even is other than a cfw

It's funny to see how many people are saying to be too lazy to do it. Actually I've installed a9lh just because that day I was bored

What is the benefit of this over rxtools or any other cfw out of curiosity? There are a lot of people who use this but I have no idea what it even is or the point of it.

100% boot rate
the console turn on A LOT faster then using menuhax
Be able to recover your console from a brick without an hardmod
permanent CFW

Interesting. So is this something that I could benefit from? I use a 2ds on 6.0, rxtools using EmuNand 10.7. I go through the browser to get to rxtools, press r and load into EmuNand. It's annoying, but it works everytime. Would this be a faster method of loading or am I stuck in the metaphorical 1800's and need an updated wardrobe? I don't mind messing with my 2ds either. It's fun and I like doing these things.

I don't get it why hasn't anyone done it yet.
While downgrading, your New3DS has a higher risk of bricking. But Its not the case for Old3DS users. Why? Why haven't you installed arm9loaderhax yet? Comments and the poll too.

It would be helpful if you had context for your obnoxious questions.

Yes. You could also just switch to a better cfw that auto boots emunand

100% boot rate success
Faster boot rate (8 seconds!)
Ability to unbrick sysnand
Because of the previous, eradicates any need to use emunand, saving SD space
If moving EmuNAND to sysnand, NAND read/writes are faster for OS/NAND-related operations like CIA installation

You can follow the setup starting from part 4 here: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-4-(Getting-the-OTP)

EDIT: Oh sorry, I should also mention. If you plan to continue using Gateway, you'll have to either get yourself a separate 9.2 emunand dedicated to booting Gateway CFW or wait for Gateway's announced A9LH support in their upcoming update.

I'm going to say wrong on the last one. I didn't get any speed increase when I stopped using emunand. CIA still install at the same speed. Also they don't install to your nand they install to the sd card, the only thing happening to your nand is it gets added to the tickets and that's a very small thing

Are you also referring to the N3DS? I am pretty sure there is a significant speed increase on N3DS, because the NAND chip reads/writes faster than the SD slot. It also removes some strain on the SD card because it handles emuNAND and the SD .cia installation at the same time.

It probably isn't too noticeable on O3DS though, but the remaining benefits are still a good reason to update from menuhax to A9LH.
