I say 2006, but the poll test is still bugged.
I'm still getting redirected to front page.

Eliminated by Steven Ye for the saving of eyes.
No.
It wasn't awesome.
The lyrics phailed hard too.
Watch me DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO is the most over-repeated line ever.

now onto why 2006 was cool:
We started the year with Mariah Carey, and went on to the debut of Ne-Yo.
Then, we got some Rihanna, before she turned into a beat junkie with "Good Girl Gone Bad"
Shakira started singing in English again.
Nelly Furtato released "Loose", her hip-hop influenced album.
Justin Timberlake came back, except awesomer than before.

Please don't judge my music tastes =X

i agree with jalaneme.

Ya, 90s was some good shit (and late 80s)
We had Eazy-E, Dr Dre, Bone Thugs, etc...all rap today is just kinda bleh (I wasn't serious when I posted Soulja Boy).

It seems like every year, rap gets crappier

2007 was pretty rubbish, there's only a few artists that really caught my attention last year (Newton Faulker and Biffy Cairo off the top of my head).

Squishing albums and singles in together (with a little added help from Wikipedia):
The Fratellis, Arctic Monkeys, Panic at the Disco, Lost Prophets, Scissor Sisters, Kasabian - Empire, The Automatic - Monster, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Raconteurs - Steady as She Goes, Muse, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly - I Spy, The Killers, Amy Winehouse, Nelly Furtado - All Good Things Come To An End, James Blunt and that catchy Sexyback one Justin Timberlake did.

Need I go on?
2006 just owned your ass

Why does the poll only have the years 2004-2008?
blink.gif

Well...as far as pop music (as in all things MTV) is concerned, everything from 1990 till today sucked major ass and it only gets worse with every year...
Anyone who still listens to MTV should be punished, anyway

(But then again, they're already punished with their musical taste)

Looking only at the genres you like (and I guess that's true for most genres), every year has many great releases...I don't think I could ever complain about there not being enough good music...just don't fix yourself on specific artists too much, sadly that's what most people do
