Melee was balanced in difficulty not too hard and not too easy and faster paced. Brawl is a little too slow, very easy, and gets cheesy after a while, when playing a Brawl match, the Smash Ball is never used, it's just too cheesy for my tastes.

Well, I based my childhood upon N64 (along with PS1 and Genesis) games and one of them was the original Super Smash Bros., so I'm going to have to pick that one. That said, Super Smash Bros. Melee was superb as well and possibly just as good while Brawl was just over-rated and bad

Melee. Having played all three for quite a good amount of time, I can say that Melee is definitely my favorite, and the one I was most satisfied with.

- More fast-paced
- More enjoyable multiplayer
- Less cluster (Sometimes too many features can be a bad thing)

Its a homebrew thats not finished.. Get over it

I would say Melee is most satisfying though not as much characters as brawl...
In Brawl basicly they just changed everything >.>

Personally, I like Brawl the best, just because it's the Smash I'm best at. :3

I think Melee is just as good as Brawl, though --- better in some respects (physics), worse in others (number of characters).

MELEE.

Melee was THE fighting game of it's time. The reason why brawl sucks compared to melee it's because they made it for the wii. The wii is a family/casual console. Thus a casual game. Melee was very challenging and fun. I felt more accomplished finishing events and classic and unlocking characters. I still play it today. Don't get me wrong, brawl is fun as well, but it's just TOO easy.
