I voted for Mass Effect.

I didn't really like how Valve neglected the difference between gamepad and mouse. Doesn't hinder gameplay, but it's quite annoying when aiming for achievements.
(Go on youtube, search Portal challenge mode videos on both versions and see how PC version is "click here, click there, voila!" and 360 version is "may the Force be with you, Jedi")

Another strong point of ME is it's 360 exclusive (at least for now, the "Only on 360" logo is total bullcrap, those games eventually get ported to PC, PS3, everywhere) so its graphics and controls aren't challenged by AC,OB,COD4 running on high end PC.

hard to say...
assasin's creed is great but have no multiplayer value.
The orange box is cheaper for four (or five ?) game and it's a great deal if you didn't play it on PC...
COD4 is very impressive such by his graphics than the scenario but it's not the fps of the year for me.
Mass Effect is a KOTOR like, this kind of game is not easy at first sight and the firsts hours are boring but if you are still in after, definitivly it's pretty good and I agree with you guys, one of the best game of the year.
Halo 3 is not a killer app but the coop mode is simply awesome !!!

What are you expecting ? Multi or solo ? Adventure ? SF ? Just tell us ^^

I simply love the 360 controller for FPSs, though it outright sucks in most racing games IMO.

COD4 is probably the best of those. Having a growth system gives it's multiplayer more replay value, since you'll gain features over time. Rather than have everything at once. Which gets stale.

really hard to say.

they all have their awesome points and slightly weak points.

Depends what genre of game you like the best. Maybe play COD4 single player first because it's really short.

halo 3
it might be an old game but it will last a lot longer than the other games (maybe COD4 remember halo has a map maker) i´v had halo for a month now and i still play it like when i got it because it´s still fun with all the custom maps and games out there you´ll never know what will happen

mass effect
sure it´s a good game and all (better than halo mind you) but it won´t last as long as the other games since it doesn´t have online which is kinda sad

assasian´s creed
haven´t played it but if you don´t like steatlhthy games that require patience i doubt you will enjoy it

orange box
it´s a great deal yeah but some of the games area bit on the meh side. portal was great but just too short and a little cheap that we couldn´t have more than 2 portals at the same time. i never really liked half life so i haven´t played it yet. team fortress is not nearly as fun online as cod4 or halo

cod4
haven´t played this one but i doubt it´s as fun as halo witht the map maker and stuff

so i´ll vote for halo3
