Which looks better, Xbox Series X or PS5?

Well, if you're choosing make sure it's for looks alone. All of those are pluses except if the ui is basically the xbox one ui because I hate that. I'm still waiting out on which console I would actually buy, but probably ps5 (especially if they have backwards compatibility with all playstations)

The PS5 looks better. That said the design is awkward, and won't fit in most entertainment centers, unless crammed on the side.

I want them both but when looking at design they both are not my favorite. But XBOX Series X looks better then PS5. I sure hope PS5 will be released in full black.

Edit : damn... Just picture Googled... Can I change my vote? I'm not a fan of sleek design for the sake of sleek design, but c'mon... The series Xbox x series x with x on top is just a box. That's not 'minimal design' but a student job at most. I've got a fifty bucks external USB drive from the early zeroties I'd be less embarrassed to plug into my TV than that thing.

The fact that they went with an extravagant name makes it even worse, if I'm honest. It's as if they knew their weak design in advance, and picked a stupid name to compensate (whereas the result is just terrible twice).


The PS5 is just 'meh'. It's something I picture in the living room of a star wars storm trooper (especially the controller), but at least it's a console.

The PS5 looks like 80s futuristic, like how we thought everything would look in the future. Which is not modern anymore and hasn't been in a very long time. It's not exactly ugly, it's just completely off the rails. It's more "what were they thinking?!" (in AVGN's voice)

I like the sleek, modern look of the XSX. And since we are talking looks here, I would have to go for that one. It's not the most practical design from a "where can i fit this thing by my TV" standpoint though. Usually media related devices are flat so that you can fit them in a media cabinet which has narrow shelves, or stack them. The XSX is too thick laying down to put anything on top of, and you can't put anything in front or behind as that would hurt the supply of fresh air. That's assuming it even fits in your media cabinet, it might not if the shelves are narrow enough. Standing up, you're pretty much limited to putting it on the floor. It's a great form factor for a desktop PC, as it takes up very little space on a desk. TV stands/media cabinets don't have much vertical space though.

the series x is too minimalistic, i like the Alienware look of the ps5 since the poll is about the base design i'll go with ps5 but series x might get better special editions

The Series -X looks better and it has BC support for all legacy systems.
PS5 looks okay but I like the classic black look.
