Hacking which is easyest/best usb hardrive loader

hello
i have followed the superb 4.2 guide by xzxero to softmod a few wii's now

what i want to try next is to put some games on a usb external hardrive, with the covers, and run them from the wii
can anyone help with a good tutorial ,
any sugestions welcome

Personally, I like WiiFlow, it's easy to set up and it has probably the BEST GUI.

I use configurable USB loader, and until Thanksgiving this was all new to me (the hard drive portion). Had little difficulty getting it up and running since it supports loading games from FAT. I think it's the only one that does. Can someone verify?

I use USB Loader GX. It's updated frequently, looks good, and just works. New features are added often. Last I checked, it had an option for skinning/theming too, (options menu, Page 3 "Theme downloader"), but I didn't mess with it.

Newer USB Loader GX versions can supposedly load from FAT, or so I read...I use WBFS.

I like configurable USB loader. The recent ability to use NTFS instead of FAT32 is an added bonus also.

this is the one i was looking at a few weeks ago but forgot wat it was called

i have downloaded 2 packages
1st the channel
2nd the forwarder

just got a couple of quick questions

the forwarder package includes , apps,boot.dol for preloader,config and wad
what is the way to install this to the 4.2 modded wii please?
i havnt got the wii at home at the moment,its at a friends house, so cant try untill tommorrow
so just trying to get as much help and info for when i get the wii

is the channel just like the neogama channel ,just install with wad manager? to get the channel on the wii main screen

go with configurable usb loader instead, in my experience it has better compatibility with games. Plus its 1st with new features most of the time. GX seems to be getting bogged down with being a disc loder and homebrew loader as well.

do i have to install Hermes' IOS222/223 for this loader as iv'e already modded with xzxero 4.2 guide?

if you installed all the wads in the modify.zip package you'll already have 222 and 223

just download a forwarder.wad and put the apps folder provided on your sd card and run from forwarder or HBC it'll make a config folder and covers folder when first run I think or when you save settings

configurable USB loader has to sit on the top of my list it plays anything i play with it tons of themes and your own music in the background but i always say try them all it cant hurt and you may find one you like for your needs. have fun this is one of the better parts of the wii softmodding.
