Which is Better: Ewin GBA expansion of the EZ 3-in-1?

    hi all,

    i've been playing zelda: phantom hourglass on the DS and fancy playing some of the other zelda games on the GBA

    1512 - Classic NES Series - Legend of Zelda
    1745 - Classic NES Series - Zelda II - The Adventure of Link
    1758 - Legend of Zelda, The - The Minish Cap


    so i wondered what are people's opinions of the best GBA slot 2 expansion to work with the M3DSReal?

    The M3 Real expansion has real-time save and in-game cheat support.

    The EZ-Flash 3 in 1 has rumble for DS games, and RAM for the Opera web browser.

    The M3 Real expansion pack can be patched for Opera Web Browser too.

    Also, the M3 Real expansion's special features are not available if you decide to switch to another slot-1 flashcart.

    thanks for your help guys. looks like i'll get the GBA expansion then. the only thing the 3-in-1 seems to have better is the included rumble and i've already got a separate rumble that came with my M3DSReal.

    Anyone know a UK supplier of the M3 gba expansion? it says out on site but i cant find anyone who is selling them seperate? even someone who ships to UK would be fine i have used deal xtreme and Gadget asia in past but neither are listing it as far as i can see

    i've just bought the ewin GBA expansion from psxboy.com – it cost $12 + $2 to ship to UK (+ $0.56 to use paypal!) around £7.

    from what i understand it operates exactly the same as the official cart (it's even recognised as it) but doesn't look as good.

    i think i found the official version sold for about £30 inc. postage if you absolutely have to have that.

    have a search on here for ewin gba expansion for more info on it.

    i've now received the GBA expansion and have been playing a few GBA games. it seems two of the games i want to play don't work though (i get a message saying "game pak error"):

    1512 - Classic NES Series - Legend of Zelda
    1745 - Classic NES Series - Zelda II - The Adventure of Link

    i've tried downloading again but get the same problem. i also noticed they don't work under emulation either so guess there's a specific issue with these ROMs.

    i also saw someone posted patches for these games – is this to fix the same problem i'm getting? if so, does anyone know if i can patch these games from a mac?

    Those two games also cause trouble on GBA Emulators, they're a little awkward..
    I think there's a save fix out somewhere for them

    I'm sure there are plenty of IPS patchers for the Mac, it is the most common patch format. A web search should find one without much trouble.

    both have 32 MB of RAM and SRAM, at least one component is from the same manufacturer. But that is where the similarities end. The eWin has 1/4 (in some cases even only 1/8) of the SRAM and no clock.

    thanks, i wasn't sure if patching software would exist on the mac but i found something called IPS Patcher. it said it's patched those 2 files (and they've definitely been modified) but unfortunately they still bring up the game pak error.

    The classic NES series need to be patched with an IPS patch
    there in the downloads sections some where, and the pack contains a patch for every NES classic game USA and JPN

    I had to do it to get them working on my m3 expansion pak

    I believe GBA ExpLoader will tell you if you actually care. Back up any save you still have on the expansion before you run it.

    those weird characters are what happens if you paste japanese characters from programs that do not support asian fonts.

    Weird when i go to psxboy they never have any in stock and i never recieve email saying they have them.... may just get ez from dealextreme
