    hi all,

i've been playing zelda: phantom hourglass on the DS and fancy playing some of the other zelda games on the GBA

1512 - Classic NES Series - Legend of Zelda
1745 - Classic NES Series - Zelda II - The Adventure of Link
1758 - Legend of Zelda, The - The Minish Cap

so i wondered what are people's opinions of the best GBA slot 2 expansion to work with the M3DSReal?

    thanks.

The M3 Real expansion has real-time save and in-game cheat support.

The EZ-Flash 3 in 1 has rumble for DS games, and RAM for the Opera web browser.

The M3 Real expansion pack can be patched for Opera Web Browser too.

Also, the M3 Real expansion's special features are not available if you decide to switch to another slot-1 flashcart.

thanks for your help guys. looks like i'll get the GBA expansion then. the only thing the 3-in-1 seems to have better is the included rumble and i've already got a separate rumble that came with my M3DSReal.

i've just bought the ewin GBA expansion from psxboy.com – it cost $12 + $2 to ship to UK (+ $0.56 to use paypal!) around £7.

from what i understand it operates exactly the same as the official cart (it's even recognised as it) but doesn't look as good.

i think i found the official version sold for about £30 inc. postage if you absolutely have to have that.

have a search on here for ewin gba expansion for more info on it.

i've now received the GBA expansion and have been playing a few GBA games. it seems two of the games i want to play don't work though (i get a message saying "game pak error"):

1512 - Classic NES Series - Legend of Zelda
1745 - Classic NES Series - Zelda II - The Adventure of Link

i've tried downloading again but get the same problem. i also noticed they don't work under emulation either so guess there's a specific issue with these ROMs.

i also saw someone posted patches for these games – is this to fix the same problem i'm getting? if so, does anyone know if i can patch these games from a mac?

Those two games also cause trouble on GBA Emulators, they're a little awkward..
I think there's a save fix out somewhere for them

Here are the patches for all of the NES Classic and Famicom Mini games that need them: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=1872

I'm sure there are plenty of IPS patchers for the Mac, it is the most common patch format. A web search should find one without much trouble.

both have 32 MB of RAM and SRAM, at least one component is from the same manufacturer. But that is where the similarities end. The eWin has 1/4 (in some cases even only 1/8) of the SRAM and no clock.

thanks, i wasn't sure if patching software would exist on the mac but i found something called IPS Patcher. it said it's patched those 2 files (and they've definitely been modified) but unfortunately they still bring up the game pak error.

The classic NES series need to be patched with an IPS patch
there in the downloads sections some where, and the pack contains a patch for every NES classic game USA and JPN

I had to do it to get them working on my m3 expansion pak

I believe GBA ExpLoader will tell you if you actually care. Back up any save you still have on the expansion before you run it.

Rudolph has listed the features of various expansions in the EXPLoader readme (although the M3 Expansion is mysteriously only mentioned in the japanese one):
    ƒ3in1Šg’£ƒpƒbƒN‚ÌŽd—l„
    1. 256Mbit(32MByte) NORfalsh page size is 1Mbits(128KB)
    2. 128Mbit(16MByte) PSRAM page size is 1Mbits(128KB)
    3. 4Mbit(512KByte) SRAM page size is 64Kbits(8KB)

    ƒEZ FlashIV lite-delux‚ÌŽd—l„
    1. 384Mbit(48MByte) NORfalsh page size is 1Mbits(128KB)
    2. 256Mbit(32MByte) PSRAM page size is 1Mbits(128KB)
    3. 8Mbit(1MByte) SRAM page size is 64Kbits(8KB)

    ƒEWIN EXPANSION PAK‚ÌŽd—l„
    1. 256Mbit(32MByte) SDRAM
    2. 2Mbit(256KByte) SRAM page size is 256Kbits(64KB)

    ƒDSTT GBA&EXPLORER 2IN1‚ÌŽd—l„
    1. 256Mbit(32MByte) SDRAM
    2. 1Mbit(128KByte) SRAM page size is 256Kbits(64KB)

    ƒGBA Expansion Pack‚ÌŽd—l„
    1. 256Mbit(32MByte) SDRAM
    2. 8Mbit(1MByte) SRAM page size is 256Kbits(64KB)

those weird characters are what happens if you paste japanese characters from programs that do not support asian fonts.
