Buying a DS lite this week based on the glowing recommendations of my brother (elfeckin), but his niche is not 4 year old girl games. If anyone could give me a short list (5 or so) of the best, most interesting, games available I'd be most appreciative.

    Thank You,

Cooking Mama if she can learn through visual directions can be played by a 4 year old. Before her playing make sure if she get temper tantrums through losing. I hate ot be that DS if she chucks it :/

resident evil DS, halo 3, gears of war (o wait those for xbox 360),

the reason why i reccomend such violent games for a 4 year old girl is when she gets attacked she will have creative, lethal ways to protect her self

I agree with Gears of War and Halo 3. She'll love em.

On a serious note, probably New Super Mario Bros. or Nintendogs

Behave now people, the person asked a proper question no need to be dumb about it.

    To the original poster:
When my nephew was 4 he enjoyed games like Sonic Rush & Kirby Squeak Squad.

It depends on whether your child can understand what to do and so on, some kids are more advance than others and my nephew wasn't. Like Super Princess Peach requires you to make her cry to grow a tree so she can get up to higher platforms, if you think she'll be able to know to do that then please tell then we can help you more.

I'm really not good with age groups, so I don't know at what age kids are into Dora the Explorer or whether Dora is too young for a four year old, but the Dora games are quite good.

It's hard to get good recommendations for kids here, as people just say things like New Super Mario Bros. While it's true that there's very little violence and no swearing or sex in these kinds of games, I imagine the gameplay would be too complicated for many four-year-olds.

People here also seem to have trouble differentiating between games which are crap and games which simply aren't aimed at their demographic; very few people here would enjoy Dora the Explorer, but that doesn't make the games bad, it just means that 14-year-old boys aren't into singing backpacks.

Space Invaders Extreme. My sister was playing it non-stop for a week. She is in 1st grade [IMG]. SIE is extremely easy to pick-up and play.
