I have a ton of controllers. Most of them are retro. Like a lot of people here I collect game systems. So I have systems like game cube, Wii, Wii U, Genesis, PlayStation 1-2-3-4, and so on with their controllers.

My favorite is the Switch pro controller. I love the feel of it. It's a great controller, for the Switch. I would use it for my PC gaming rig except for one problem. No analog triggers. Come on Nintendo. You do so many things right, and then it's as though you deliberately Fuck shit up. Like the 3DS with ONE thumb stick. It works with the switch only because developers have to work within those restrictions. What could their games look like if they could take advantage of analog triggers? Has anyone tried to drive a car in cyberpunk with the pro controller? It's either full throttle or nothing. Your thumb ends up tapping the trigger as though it was a pwn mosfet.

The DS4 is a fantastic controller. yes it to has it's problems. Why the hell is the share, and option buttons recessed ? Why? And a touch pad that takes up so much real estate that is never used. I know these are petty complaints, but I want to point out that it too is not perfect. However, the fact that you can open any game via Steam, and therefore map the DS4 controller buttons any way you like is the shit. I used it daily until a few weeks ago when I dropped a full cup of coffee on it. I took it apart and cleaned it as best I could, but it was all for naught . She's dead Jim. Amazon is sending me a new shiny red one. I can't wait.

For PC
I’ve got an Xbox One controller (white)
A DS4 controller with a smexy sticker thing on it
An N64 USB controller

And I’ve been considering getting a Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing Pro Controller or a Wii U pro controller. Can’t decide between the two
Get the first one

For whatever reason, I like dualshock 3s. They just feel comfortable to me. So I've got Mayflash adapters to let me use them on several consoles and I use it exclusively on PC because I've never been a keyboard/mouse gamer. I also use it on Switch, Wii U, and PS3 obviously. I could use it on PS4 as I have a Mayflash for it too but it's got the touchpad and many games use it so that wouldn't really work with the DS3. I also don't use it on my rgh Xbox 360 because it's not possible.

I bought several of them new on Ebay for $20 each thinking they were brand new (probably should have known better at that price) but it said Sony and felt like the real thing, maybe a tad lighter but I didn't realize it and I later discovered they were knockoffs. However I have no complaints with them they work great wirelessly like they should no buttons problems even vibration works. They're really good knockoffs.

I also just bought this as I plan to use it for PC https://www.amazon.com/MAYFLASH-Arc...eywords=pc+arcade+stick&qid=1615518710&sr=8-5

Not a high end one but I've found those aren't really necessary.

I like all my shit to be see-through, but I took mine to the next level: My left Joycon got a D-pad upgrade, and my Pro Controller got upgraded to magnetic metal analog sticks. Both Joycons got upgraded to metal clips that secure them in their rails. Pro Controller also got iridescent chameleon blue/purple buttons that change color depending on which angle you look at them. The Switch also has the clear backplate.

By the way, the "PROPERTY OF:" labels on the back of the Switch and the back of the Pro Controller are each underneath the clear plastic, as a sort of passive anti-theft measure. Thieves can't easily peel the label off without first dismantling the hardware. (I also hate feeling the lable with my fingers while playing games)

I love custom first party controllers, but I've always come close to messing something up, so I tend to not attempt to anymore(only ever lost a spring while adding a clear shell for a Joycon, and just said screw it).

I'll probably upload a picture later since I've got a snazzy cubed bookshelf full of some, but for now I'll list some!
  • N64: Several First Party controllers / Several Third Partys( HyperKin and Brawler64? ) / Several Generic ones
  • PS1: Few First Party controllers
  • Gamecube: Multiple First Party controllers of varying decent condition / First Party Wavebird controller
  • Xbox: Original Duke which I think was First Party / MadCatz Third Party Controller
  • Xbox 360: Multiple First Party controllers / MadCatz Third Party controller( Used to be my absolute love )
  • Wii: Few First Party controllers / Few Third Party controllers w/ MotionPlus?
  • Xbox One: Few First Party controllers / HyperKin Third Party Duke controller( still love it today )
  • Wii U: First Party Gamepad & Pro controller
  • PS4: Single First Party controller
  • Switch: Several First Party Joycons, Pro Controllers / Few Third Party controllers(8bitdo for one) / Multiple Generic Joycons and Pro controllers
  • Misc: Single Generic NES controller, Single Generic SNES controller
Probably missing a few, but at least until I can get home and take a picture it'll do!

I have original controllers for every Nintendo and Playstation console except Wii U, a couple 8BitDo controllers (SF30Pro being my favorite for 2D/indie stuff), a RetroFighters N64 controller, and I recently picked up a Mayflash F500 V2 arcade stick.

Oh, and a Steam controller, an XB1 controller, a couple Dreamcast controllers, a Wii Guitar Hero guitar, and a pad for DDR/StepMania.

Favorite controller for full 3D/AAA games, based on comfort and functionality: PS5 DualSense > Switch Pro Controller > XB1 controller. KB+M if the game is an FPS, RTS, or grand strategy.

Favorite controller for 2D/indie games, based on comfort and functionality: 8BitDo SF30Pro, Mayflash F500 (for arcade games, fighting games other than Smash, and beat 'em ups).
