Hey -- I've finally convinced my girlfriend to let me mod her Wii.

I don't know much about this. I've tried searching through the forum, but I don't know what the best choice would be.

The Wii was bought right when the system was first released.

    Any help is appreciated.

Oh, and if anyone lives in the Bay Area can solder (if that is necessary?)...

Okay, so I looked around some more...

    Figured this from the tracker:

"Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-DMS.
Your Drive Pins are most likely not cut."

So what chip should I get?

I don't know how to solder.

Is this the way to go, with that discount: http://www.ozmodchips.com/wiiclip-v4-solde...2pro-p-145.html

You don't need a D2Pro. I've got the same drive chip as you and I grabbed the Free-Clip. I programmed yaosm 3.2 on it and it's been flawless ever since. You need a serial I/O port on your computer to program the Free Clip.
Other than that, maybe get the Wii-Clip v3 with Wiikey soldered. Or Key-Clip if you don't mind programming using a parallel I/O port.
