Hacking Which 8GB memory cards do you guys use?

I deleted TWEWY since... well, I don't play it. XD There exists a Castlevania patch that removes a few soundeffects but eliminates freezing on all microSDs. The whole speed thing may have been a problem with the game requesting soundeffects too quickly?

cf_bench random access results:
512B - max: 0.787ms, average: 0.705ms
4KB - max: 2.637ms, average: 2.541ms
16KB - max: 9.873ms, average: 9.739ms

Just for comparison, here are some cf_bench results for my 4GB Class 4 Toshiba card (C04G).

512B - max: 0.578ms, average: 0.540ms
4KB - max: 2.309ms, average: 2.164ms
16KB - max: 9.040ms, average: 8.600ms

512B - max: 0.559ms, average: 0.536ms
4KB - max: 2.139ms, average: 2.092ms
16KB - max: 8.243ms, average: 8.217ms

I just ran cf_bench on my 4Gb Transcend Class 6, compared the 16k Windows format vs Panasonic program. Fairly close results.

16k Windows Format:
512B - max: 0.609ms, average: 0.573ms
4KB - max: 2.533ms, average: 2.470ms
16KB - max: 10.055ms, average: 9.858ms

Panasonic App:
512B - max: 0.593ms, average: 0.559ms
4KB - max: 2.499ms, average: 2.444ms
16KB - max: 10.003ms, average: 9.853ms

I need to know the answer to this question too.... can someone run a random access time test on their 8gb class 6 A-data / Transcend cards for us please, it would help a lot...

i dont use/have 8GB cards, TWEWY and Castelvania works fine with my 2GB kingston(CycloEvo and Acekard2.1)

I just got my 8gb Transcend Class 6, I ran HD Tach on it...

Right out of the box....
Burst: 17.5 MB/s
Random access: 0.8ms
Average read: 17.1 MB/s

Compared with my other 2 cards:

Transcend 4gb Class 6

Burst: 17.3 MB/s
Random access: 0.8ms
Average read: 16.4 MB/s


Kingston Japan 4gb

Burst: 19.9 MB/s
Random access: 1.0ms
Average read: 19.4 MB/s

They're all in FAT32 with 32k clusters, it benched much better than I thought it would.... I was kind of worried because I had heard the 8gb's were slower, but I was really happy with it.

I can't run cf_bench on it yet because my Dsi still hasn't arrived....
