I'm buying a CycloDS and the MicroSD card I have right now is a 2GB Kingston Japanese, I remember reading that certain games run best on a japanese SD card, and this guide http://cyclods.theta.in/wiki/BeginnerGuide suggests using a japanese one and says something about different classes of MicroSD cards...

I want to buy an 8GB MicroSDHC card to go with my new CycloDS but when I look at newegg it doesn't list whether or not they are japanese cards
If you guys would be so kind as to point me in the right direction that would be great
I just want to be able to play all games without having to worry about if I got a bad microsd card or not

Amazon or Newegg.

Micro SDHC cards don't really matter if they are made in Japan or not afaik. Just get a class 6 which can be a hit or miss a little if they can run everything but usually they do. Anyways they aren't Japan cards.

I use a Class 2 myself and haven't experienced any slowdown problems, though I do use a Class 6 for my PSP and do notice the difference. Why fast card for the DS anyway? what actually reads/writes at that speed? and at 8GB you've got plenty of space for roms? In NZ they're priced the same, don't know about US though. Go for class 6 if there is little or no price difference.

It's mainly because there are certain games (Castlevania) that can only be run with certain MicroSD card setups

So are you saying even if its not Japanese it will be fine?

I don't mean to double post but I did read a lot of stuff Including info from the cyclods wiki stating that my best bet is a japanese microsd card, is there a place to get one? I can't find any one newegg, well there are probably some but newegg doesn't seem to list whether or not they are japanese anywhere.

I bought that same Transcend 8GB for the low low price of 15 dollars USD + free shipping.
I think that is a good price for a 8GB.. not sure about 22 dollars. Best to either shop around or wait for a better price.

Who knows what Christmas sales might bring up.

try newegg....they have the 8gb transcend for $16.49 here's the link
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...8-503-_-Product

of course that's a class 2(slow write speed)

newegg also has a class 4 patriot for $17.99 here
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...0-350-_-Product

or a class 6 adata for $18.45 here
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...1-351-_-Product

I have the 4GB version of the adata, same class and I don't have any problem running castlevania or any other games for that matter.
