Gaming Where to find a Wii in the UK

My dad is buying my brother a Wii for Christmas and he knows they are in short supply so he's looking for one now, but they're out of stock everywhere we've tried. We don't want a bundle, we just want a console with Wii Sports.

We have tried
* Game
* Gamestation
* Play.com
* Dabs.com

Dad doesn't really do Internet shopping, but he liked Play and Dabs so I tried those as well. Does anybody else know somewhere that might get some in stock, or that has something to tell me when they are in stock (like an email newsletter etc)?

The trick is to just keep checking. I got one off play.com last week after only 2 days of checking. It was a Tuesday morning, they were only in stock for about 40 minutes so you need to check regularly.

Failing that, try amazon.de (german amazon site), they seem to have loads in stock and the shipping is only 6 quid or so. Chop off the european plug and you are sorted.

I hate play.com now with passion, as they frequent with their bait-and-switch schemes.

The GAME shops over here (Yorkshire) have plenty of them in stock.

It's pretty hard to find any that aren't bundled though. Just find a bundle with games that he might be interested in playing and get him that.

I thought the wii was easy to get hold of these days? They always seem to have a few left in my local asda. I've had a quick look on line for you. They must be selling out as its coming up to Christmas.

Keep checking the argos website for all the stores within driving distance - when you find one with stock reserve it - then go and pick it up.

just ordered one from amazon.de.. at what point do i choose the language or is english the default on european consoles? is the plug the only difference???

Plug is different, the Sport instruction manual is in German - choose language on statup IIRC.

As a slight aside I believe German law give 3 years warranty on electrical good.

get one from amazon germany, delivery in 4 days using the normal shipping method, £176 altogether!

ordered 6 so far and they have all been d2bs but the one i got today is a d2c

very pleased with the service and cant recommend it more, just need to get a eu to uk adapter which can be found in a pound shop or you can cut it off and put your own on

Theres doesn't seem to be a single Wii on sale now over here with exception to Cash Converters who have a USED Wii WITHOUT WiiSports for...

£250!!

They also have a NME CD that came free with the NME a few weeks ago for £3! Jesus that place sucks ass.

As a slight aside, you can get hold of wii play for 34.99 from viking direct at the moment instead of the usual ebay price.
