I went to radioshack but all the locations in my town didn't have what I needed. The wire and solder was too thick, and such. What is a nice retailer besides radioshack that will carry this stuff?

Thank you for this, I bought everything except for 30 gauge wire from another radioshack.

Can I strip a phone wire for the wire? Will it be too thick/too thin? Or just right?
