really, what happens when you want to take your SD card out or power it off ?

It should be stressed that the console will not autoboot into CFW after it gets shut down and, of course, you can only make use of this function if you're already running Atmosphère. So like last time, while it's nice that the need to keep a RCM injector with you at all times gets smaller with each commit, you shouldn't say goodbye to your dongles and jigs just yet as this isn't a substitute for a proper warmboot exploit.
Welp, I've tried to avoid this thread as much as possible for obvious reasons, but considering I got quoted here now I might aswell reply.
That line right there was underlying how the reboot to payload function is not a warmboot exploit nor a substitute to RCM injectors, as in it helps if your console crashes or gets rebooted but it will not help if the battery runs out or the console gets shut down as you'll still need a payload injector (and jig if you don't have AutoRCM) to boot into CFW. It doesn't regard microSD cards at all and they never even got mentioned in the article once.
That aside, I haven't tried it myself as I use a 256GB microSD card in my Switch, but while swapping cards at boot does
not work with fusee-primary, it reportedly
does with Hekate.
Now if you excuse me, I'll go back again and pretend this thread doesn't exist.
