Hi,

I'm in the UK and wondering if there are any retailers that ship free in the UK who sell blank DVD media.....i.e. the good stuff Verbatim and the like?

Even if they dont ship free, where do you buy yours from if you purchase online?

Remember im looking for UK retailers.

Cheers guys

Many places and it depends on how quick I need it.

Tesco do some decent gold maxell discs whenever I drift past and toys r us also are pretty good. Failing that computer fair or amazon.

bigpockets.co.uk or svp.co.uk

Always get a fast delivery. The only reason I use svp more than bigpockets these days is the svp websites likes the AOL web browser better. The bigpockets site runs very slowly for some reason.

OT: Rima.com ships to the US and has good prices.

Be careful not to get fake media also. Lots of places sell fake TY discs because they're so popular, and the fakes are usually very low quality (bad burns, errors).

Got my last 50 TDK -R 16x from maplin, for the impressive price of £0.00, instead of £25... Bought a lot of stuff that day and the guy at the checkout got distracted by his supervisor and forgot to scan them

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
